Role: Art Department Assistant
Achievements: Assisted the department. In depth research on Dylan Thomas's hand writing, poetry and manuscripts, of which I re-created for action props and repeats. Painting sets and dressing. Assisted Graphic Designer / Dressing Props in the re-creation of a London Underground Tube station used as a shelter during World War Two.
Researched Thomas's manuscripts, with content, and replicated versions, with repeats, as the prop was used in an action scene.
Hundreds of photographs from the period were collated. Street dressing was replicated and installed on location.
Using cleared images / newspaper cuttings a collage was formed on the bathroom wall within the house on stage.
Assisting in set dressing, bar dressing on location, the shell of a house in a field on location and dressed break away glass on stage for close ups.
Assisted the Graphic Designer and liaised with an external digital printing company to create tube station posters of the period.
Instructed Painters and Dressing Props in pasting all the posters in the correct layout and on to the walls of an actual London Underground Tube station. Assisted Set Dressers in final stages of dressing.
